What comes into the mind of travellers when we talk about sea, sun and sand?
Phuket must definitely be one of the answers. A number of exciting activities can be found on this island, located south of
Thailand and easy to reach by domestic and international flights. The history and geography have made Phuket a complete
tourist destination offering a lot more beyond its natural heritage of sea, sand, forest, and world-renowned diving sites.
In the early days of regional maritime trade, Phuket served as a stopover sheltering traders from heavy monsoons. This island welcomed merchants from India, Persia, Arabia, Burma, China, and also Siam. The mining development enhanced a local business and drew immigrants to Phuket. The island’s long history has shaped the Phuket of the present with its diverse ethnic groups, culture, fine cuisine, and architectures.
The beauty of Thailand’s biggest island is rooted in its geography. Phuket and the surrounding islands are tips of low-slopped mountains surfacing above the Indian Ocean and Andaman Sea. The west side of Phuket consists of beautiful curvy beaches filled with white, granular sand. The west side is mostly Mangrove forests and wetlands. The south side lies beautiful coral leaves famous for diving and snorkeling. Surrounding Phuket are small islands offering secluded beaches and clear water.
This most vibrant and most visited beach of Phuket offers a wide range of activities, including water sports,
shopping, and night-time entertainments.

Flying to Phuket is arguably the easiest way to get to the island. There are numerous international airlines
that fly directly to Phuket from various cities, including Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul, Sydney, and Dubai.
Most domestic airlines also operate several flights daily between Phuket and Bangkok.
Passport holders from 48 countries and 1 special administrative region are not required to obtain a visa when
entering Thailand for tourism purposes. These passport holders are permitted to stay in Thailand for a period
of not exceeding 30 days on each visit.
Passport holders from 28 countries and territories may apply for visas at the immigration checkpoints,
such as Suvarnabhumi Airport and Phuket International Airport, for the purpose of tourism for the period of not exceeding 15 days.
